Communications Committee, Website and Online Store
If you are a service member who works with the GSC (General Service Committee) and any of its advisory committees, or are an Area Chair or an Area or District H&I or PI&O Chair, please sign up with the CMA Service Portal at http://cmaservice.org. This is how we hope to keep in touch with our service members and know who is currently in these positions. Having these contacts will be very important to getting the word out about future events and programs happening on the General Services Level. Planned enhancements to the portal include the service calendar as well as interim approved literature for your feedback.
The Communications Committee is collecting CMA speaker recordings from members who have spoken at CMA Meetings or Conferences. These recordings will be included in an upcoming digital service for members of the fellowship to access whenever needed. We are excited about providing this service in the future but we will need submissions from the fellowship accompanied by a waiver recently approved for this purpose. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to submit your recording.
Four new literature offerings will be brought to the GSC – please review the delegate packet for details!
The Literature Committee is looking for member stories for publication. Submit your story now, here.
Two documents were updated and given interim approval at the June board meeting. Download the latest versions from the website:
Twelve Steps a Plan of Action and What is CMA.
H&I is looking for member's stories (shares or otherwise) which include experience at institutions. We are looking for both written and audio versions. These are for our "Sober Cell" pamphlet and other materials we are making available to those on the inside. Click here for details.
H&I has sent an introductory letter to 75 Federal Corrections Facilities letting them know what CMA H&I can provide for those inside who are struggling with addiction.
Through the prison correspondence, we have heard of at least 2 regular CMA meetings happening in prisons in the Midwest. Our Jail Liaisons are in contact and providing literature and support.
The H&I Information Handbook is now live on the CMA web site. To view or download it please go to the H&I page on the CMA website. The GSC H&I Committee welcomes any suggestions or information to add to this document.
PI&O is working on the “What is PI&O” pamphlet and will be bringing it to the General Service Conference to be worked on in our breakout session. A working group of PI&O and Literature have been working on a document about Anonymity. The working group came out of the joint breakout session from the last Conference.
PI&O is excited to be doing outreach at the American Probation and Parole Association Training Institute. There will be over 3,000 people in attendance from all parts of the probation and parole (P&P) spectrum, including drug court, P&P officers and staff and ancillary personnel. We are grateful that the NYCMA fellowship has agreed to help us with the outreach. We could not do it without local help.
